MSNA - Nursing: Administration

The Master of Science (M.S.) in Nursing (MSN) - Nursing Administration Concentration program is designed to prepare nurses to enhance their professional practice and guide daily operations in a variety of healthcare settings. It is intended for students who are current or aspiring nurse managers and clinical nurse leaders and who wish to gain expertise in nursing administration, leadership, management skills, and ethical, Spirit-empowered practice. Graduates of the program are prepared for roles such as Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), Director of Nursing, or Healthcare Administrator in settings including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and community health organizations. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, life-long learning, and leadership with opportunities for personalized direction and support from experienced faculty, and at least 140 practicum hours including 20 hours of specialized coursework. The degree requires a total of 32 semester hours, of which 12 hours are in the MSN core curriculum and 20 hours are in the Nursing Administration concentration coursework. For students wishing to continue their studies, this program prepares them for future professional development through Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs that lead to executive and advanced practice leadership roles.
